A mission-driven healthcare organization is conducting a confidential search for a Chief Operating Officer (COO). This role is ideal for a seasoned operational leader who brings both strategic and executional excellence to a complex, multi-site healthcare environment. As a core member of the executive leadership team, the COO will lead day-to-day operations, clinical integration, performance improvement, and operational excellence across the organization.

What You’ll Own

Oversee clinical operations across hospitals, medical groups, and ambulatory care settings.
Implement and scale operational strategies that drive patient access, clinical outcomes, and cost efficiency.
Partner with clinical leadership on care delivery transformation and service line integration.
Lead performance improvement initiatives, including throughput, quality, and safety metrics.
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and maintain accreditation readiness.
Oversee workforce planning, labor cost management, and union relations (where applicable).
Drive cross-functional collaboration between clinical, administrative, and technology teams.
Manage large-scale capital projects, facilities planning, and infrastructure improvements.
Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and board on operational priorities and enterprise risk.

What We’re Looking For

15+ years of progressive leadership in healthcare operations, including experience at the SVP or COO level.
Proven ability to lead complex, matrixed organizations with unionized workforces and integrated delivery systems.
Experience in value-based care, population health, and health system transformation preferred.
Track record of improving clinical, operational, and financial outcomes across multiple service lines.
Strong executive presence, communication skills, and ability to influence across stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field; Master’s degree strongly preferred.
