POSITION SUMMARY
To lead the continued implementation of the countywide Hunger Relief Strategic Plan (originally adopted in
October 2015) to fight hunger and food insecurity in Palm Beach County. This is a multi-faceted, collective impact initiative working with numerous community stakeholders throughout the entire County.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

Continue to facilitate a framework for implementing the Hunger Relief Strategic Plan and MacKenzie Scott Hunger Relief Strategies, county-wide.

Work with the community, which includes but is not limited to, community representatives, funders, faith-based organizations, government, corporate, education, and nonprofit partners to monitor and execute priorities, strategies, and desired outcomes, and re-evaluate them when needed.
Continually build consensus and facilitate collaboration and growth with county-wide Hunger Relief Advisory Council as well as Hunger Relief work groups and subcommittees, along with appropriate committees within the community.

Manage the Palm Beach County Hunger Relief staff, Advisory Council, Work Groups, and Subcommittees.

Effectively manage the process through meeting management tools, meeting notices, agendas, drafting materials to be considered, minutes, data, fact sheets, statistics, etc.
Mobilize stakeholders and refine Hunger Relief Work Groups/Subcommittees to monitor and track hunger relief data and hunger trends.

Build community partnerships with traditional and non-traditional partners around the Hunger Relief Strategic Plan.

Maintain and establish relationships with key community members to address issues related to food security and hunger relief.
Facilitate collaboration and communication among UWPBC staff, agencies, donors, policy makers and other stakeholders around the development and implementation of partnership initiatives and specific strategies tied in with the Hunger Relief Strategic Plan.
Actively participate in relevant community, state and national task forces, commissions, and committees in order to enhance our work and affect change.
Stay informed about public policy issues affecting hunger relief, including local, state and/or federal changes/opportunities, and how to favorably impact our community.

Measure, evaluate, and communicate successes and challenges.

Collect information and data, and compile regular progress reports consistent with planned evaluation strategies, or funding requirements. Use available systems and technology to gather and analyze data (e.g., 211, food finder map, local/state/federal data).

Prepare relevant reports and documentation for distribution, including an annual summary report on the Hunger Relief Strategic Plan (as needed).
Increase investment in food security by securing funding through grants, as well as private and corporate donations, working with resource development, major gifts and community investment teams or other United Way staff members to raise funds.

Ensure all grant requirements are met and/or exceeded.
Identify projects for funding consistent with the identified priorities and strategies. Funding for special projects that advance food security and hunger relief efforts, especially in key geographic areas, is valued.
Determine the dollars or resources needed to address the identified priorities and strategies which align with the initiative's metrics.
Willingness to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, when needed.

Assist, as assigned by management, with the organization's disaster response efforts.
Perform other duties as opportunities are presented and/or assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

Bachelor's degree required and master's degree preferred with a minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of leadership experience in the field of human services, planning, and/or food systems (or comparable combination of education and experience).
Experience working in a team environment, facilitating effective groups, developing collaboratives, and working with volunteers.
Experience with collective impact models and community driven efforts preferred.
Proven track record leading and working on high profile community projects with diverse stakeholders preferred.
Ability to analyze data and develop innovative strategies to maximize results.
Excellent customer/client service relations.
Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Effective communication and people skills to interact with various stakeholders.
Detail-orientated, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite software, office systems and be technology savvy.
Problem solving and strong decision-making capabilities.
Committed and capable team player with ability to work independently.
