Job Summary
The senior director of IT Infrastructure is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing the core technology platforms that power the organization’s operations. This includes enterprise collaboration tools, device lifecycle management, unified communications, and network infrastructure. The role is accountable for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of the company’s IT infrastructure while driving modernization and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in infrastructure leadership, end-user technology, and vendor management, with a strong focus on solving complex challenges and enabling business growth through resilient systems.
Job Duties
- Provide strategic leadership across infrastructure domains including enterprise collaboration platforms, device lifecycle management, unified communications, and networking.
- Lead and mentor a team of IT managers and directors, fostering a high-performance culture focused on service reliability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the administration and optimization of enterprise platforms such as Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and SharePoint to ensure secure and efficient collaboration.
- Direct the procurement, deployment, and lifecycle management of end-user devices including laptops, mobile phones, and peripherals.
- Manage unified communications systems, including telephony, faxing, badge access, printing, and related vendor contracts and SLAs.
- Ensure the stability, performance, and scalability of the organization’s network infrastructure, including internet connectivity and internal networking across all sites.
- Drive infrastructure modernization initiatives, including cloud adoption, automation, and platform consolidation.
- Collaborate with security, compliance, and application teams to ensure infrastructure meets regulatory, performance, and security standards.
- Develop and manage infrastructure budgets, vendor relationships, and contract negotiations.
- Establish and track KPIs and operational metrics to evaluate system performance, availability, and user satisfaction.
- Serve as a key escalation point for infrastructure-related incidents and ensure timely resolution of critical issues.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to inform long-term infrastructure strategy
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, including direct oversight of infrastructure and end-user technology teams.
- Strong experience with enterprise platforms such as Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and SharePoint.
- Proven track record managing device procurement, asset lifecycle, and endpoint management at scale.
- Experience overseeing unified communications systems, including telephony, access control, and print services.
- Deep understanding of network infrastructure, including WAN/LAN, internet connectivity, and network security.
- Demonstrated success leading infrastructure modernization and cloud transformation initiatives.
- Strong vendor management, budgeting, and contract negotiation skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
- Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks is a plus.
- Experience in regulated environments or with audit/compliance teams is preferred.
