Business Development Representative – Raleigh to Wilmington, NC

Transit & Level Clinic is seeking an outgoing, motivated, and relationship-focused Business Development Representative to support growth throughout Raleigh and the surrounding North Carolina market.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys meeting new people, building professional relationships, identifying business opportunities, and representing a company in the field. The Business Development Representative will work closely with our sales, operations, technical, and leadership teams to increase brand awareness, strengthen customer relationships, and generate new business.

This is not a desk position. Regular travel, customer visits, jobsite visits, networking, and occasional overnight travel are essential parts of the role.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain relationships with contractors, surveyors, engineers, construction professionals, municipalities, and other potential customers
Identify new business opportunities throughout Birmingham and the surrounding market
Conduct regular in-person customer visits, jobsite visits, and prospecting activities
Introduce customers to Transit & Level Clinic’s equipment, technology, service, repair, calibration, training, and support capabilities
Generate qualified leads and connect prospective customers with the appropriate sales or technical team member
Build and maintain a consistent pipeline of new opportunities
Follow up with prospects and customers to ensure timely communication and continued relationship development
Attend trade shows, industry events, association meetings, networking events, demonstrations, and customer functions
Support local marketing efforts, promotions, product demonstrations, open houses, and company events
Maintain accurate customer notes, opportunities, follow-up activities, and account information within the company CRM
Coordinate with sales representatives, office staff, service technicians, and leadership to ensure customer needs are addressed
Monitor market activity, competitor presence, customer needs, and industry trends
Represent Transit & Level Clinic professionally in all customer and community interactions
Provide regular updates regarding customer activity, opportunities, travel, and market development
Meet established activity, lead-generation, relationship-building, and business-development goals
Perform other duties as assigned based on the needs of the territory and organization

What We’re Looking For

Previous experience in business development, outside sales, account management, construction, surveying, equipment sales, or a related field is preferred
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
Confident and professional communication style
Comfortable initiating conversations with new prospects
Self-motivated and able to manage a territory independently
Strong organizational and follow-up skills
Ability to balance long-term relationship development with measurable business goals
Comfortable traveling regularly throughout the assigned market
Willingness to attend occasional evening events and overnight trips
Ability to learn technical products, equipment, software, and industry terminology
Experience with construction, surveying, heavy equipment, positioning technology, or related industries is a plus
Experience using a CRM or customer-management platform is preferred
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required
High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree or relevant industry experience preferred

Travel Requirements

Frequent travel throughout Birmingham and the surrounding Alabama market
Regular customer and jobsite visits
Occasional overnight travel
Attendance at trade shows, networking events, customer events, and company meetings as needed

A company vehicle and gas card are provided for approved business travel.

Schedule

Full-time
Monday through Friday
Primarily field-based
Occasional early mornings, evenings, overnight travel, or industry events may be required

Compensation

$55,000–$65,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications
Additional incentive or commission opportunities may be available based on the company’s compensation structure
