Senior Project Manager – Engineering Design

Location: New Orleans, LA | Full-Time, Hybrid (3/2)

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager – Engineering Design to lead the design team for a portfolio of capital mining and metallurgical process facilities projects. This role manages the team through planning, design, and execution, ensuring all engineering deliverables meet scope, quality, schedule, and budget objectives.

The ideal candidate brings strategic leadership, capital project experience, and technical expertise in engineering design and process facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the engineering design team across multiple capital projects
Ensure consistent application of codes, standards, and best practices
Oversee project scope definition, Engineering Execution Plans (EEP), and Project Execution Plans (PEP)
Develop fit-for-purpose solutions for projects ranging from small operational support to large-scale capital
Manage engineering resources, budgets, and schedules
Ensure proper setup and use of engineering systems, processes, and software
Coordinate with Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, Operations, and other disciplines
Support risk assessments, HAZOPs, design reviews, and safety initiatives
Drive continuous improvement through standards and best practices

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering or related field with 15+ years of experience, OR
High School Diploma with 20+ years of project and construction management experience
Proven experience managing engineering and design teams in a capital project environment
Experience with mining and metallurgical process facilities preferred
