Role Overview

We’re seeking a Construction Estimator / Pre-Construction Project Manager to support our pre-construction process, ensuring competitive, accurate estimates and seamless transition from planning to execution. This hybrid role blends cost estimating with project coordination — perfect for candidates who enjoy both numbers and client-focused pre-construction work.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating & Costing

Attend initial customer appointments with member of executive team, obtaining all information needed to provide estimate
Provide information to draftsperson to generate project drawings
Solicit pricing from subcontractors and suppliers
Consult with internal engineering team if needed
Generate clear and detailed project estimate via estimating software and provide both the estimate and project drawings to customer

Pre-Construction Project Management

Attend project kickoff meeting with Homeowner and engineer to outline scope, schedule, and expectations
Obtain signed contract and pre-project checklist from homeowner
Transfer construction information to internal engineering team
Participate in pre-bid job walks and client consultations
Ongoing communication with Homeowners prior to construction start – timeline updates, scope changes, etc
Attend construction kick-off meeting with Field Superintendent

General Duties

Maintain accurate documentation and ensure clear file organization
Uphold company values of quality, communication, and client satisfaction
Continuous interaction with internal team

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor’s degree: Construction Management, Engineering, Accounting, Finance or similar preferred OR relevant construction background/experience
Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills
Ability to read construction plans (or willingness to learn)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
Excellent written and verbal communication
Unwavering commitment to serving our customers
Detail-oriented and dependable

Preferred (Not Required):

Experience with CRM software (Salesforce)
Prior experience in residential construction or interior remodeling
Familiarity with local permitting and residential code requirements

Compensation & Benefits (California Pay Transparency)

Pay Range: $65,000–$72,000 annually (DOE)

Work Environment & Requirements

Occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs) and job site visits required
Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation
