Position Overview

Our Client is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead their service and repair facility serving the NJ/NY area. This role will oversee all aspects of facility operations, including new apparatus delivery, warranty service, repair operations, and customer support. The successful candidate will play a key role in launching and growing this strategic site, ensuring exceptional productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the New Jersey Area Service Center, overseeing daily operations and long-term growth.
Provide fleet management support for large customers with vehicles under company’s limited warranty.
Oversee inspection and delivery of new emergency service vehicles to customers.
Manage sales of OEM parts and ensure timely, high-quality warranty and repair services.
Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
Drive productivity, quality, and profitability goals for the facility.
Coach, develop, and motivate technicians and support staff to achieve operational excellence.
Analyze and reduce warranty costs by recommending product, process, and service improvements.
Communicate technical feedback and field issues to the factory for root cause analysis.
Maintain strong, professional relationships with key customers, providing updates and solutions.
Manage both onsite and mobile technicians to ensure customer needs are met efficiently.
Perform other duties as assigned in support of facility and company objectives.

Required Skills and Abilities

Strong leadership and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle technical and personnel challenges effectively.
Proven experience within a Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement environment.
Self-motivated and capable of fostering a positive, team-oriented culture.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat; knowledge of Microsoft Project, Access, or other database systems preferred.
Exceptional communication skills—written, verbal, and presentation.
Ability to perform effectively under pressure and maintain focus on safety and quality.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or related field (highly desirable).
Experience managing a heavy-truck service repair facility required.
Hands-on experience servicing and repairing heavy equipment.
Proven track record implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
Demonstrated leadership in delivering world-class service and repair results.
