Position Summary

The Assistant Project Manager (Plumbing/HVAC) supports the planning, coordination, and administration of commercial & residential mechanical projects, with a strong focus on learning estimating and growing into a full project management role.

Key Responsibilities

Open and organize job folders, ensuring all project documentation, drawings, and contracts are properly filed and updated.
Perform quantity take-offs from plans and specifications to support estimating and purchasing.
Assist with pulling permits and coordinating required inspections with local jurisdictions.
Maintain and update the project board, tracking job milestones, schedules, and key dates.
Order job parts, equipment, and supplies in coordination with project managers and field teams.
Draft, track, and help manage change orders, including scope, pricing, and documentation.
Update work-in-progress (WIP) reports and project tracking tools to reflect status and costs.
Prepare and distribute weekly and monthly project status reports for internal stakeholders.
Train and learn plumbing/HVAC estimating processes, including reviewing drawings, scopes, and building basic estimates under supervision.

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of experience in project management, construction coordination, or a related role (HVAC, plumbing, or mechanical experience preferred).
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a similar field; or an associate’s degree with additional relevant industry experience.
Familiarity with construction plans, specifications, and basic take-off methods.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook); exposure to construction or project management software is a plus.
Mechanical/HVAC or plumbing license is a plus but not required

Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
